Training workshop on “Oil Spill Preparedness, Response and shoreline cleanup”

In a collaboration between the Regional organization for the conservation of marine environment in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) and the UN Environment Programme’s West Asia Office a training workshop on “Oil Spill Preparedness, Response and shoreline cleanup” was jointly organized .

This in-person event took place in the premises of the Emergency Mutual Aid Center (EMARSGA) in Hurghada – Arab Republic of Egypt during the period 24 -27 May 2021.

This training workshop comes within the framework of PERSGA efforts to build the capacities of its member states in areas related to pollution incidents involving oil and HNS and their adverse impacts on both marine and coastal habitats, and human health.

The workshop program which entails classroom and field sessions are being delivered by trainers from from the Arab Academy for Sciences Technologies and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) of Alexandria-Egypt, the Petrosafe Company and facilitated by two experts from PERSGA.
