PERSGA Structure

PERSGA is an intergovernmental organization. PERSGA is  governed by a council including ministers of environment in its member states.

PERSGA member states are :

  • kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
  • Arab Republic of Egypt,
  • Republic of the Sudan,
  • Republic Djibouti,
  • Hashemite kingdom of Jordan,
  • Republic of Yemen,
  • Republic of Somalia.

The council meets every two years to approve PERSGA technical and financial policies.
The organization’s daily affairs are managed by The Secretary General.
PERSGA secretary general  manages and leads a team of professional specialists  recruited from PERSGA member states in the region.
The kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosts PERSGA Secretariat and its headquarters in Jeddah, since it was established in 1995.
PERSGA has devised a systems of monitoring and evaluation to ensure the Organization is achieving its programme objectives laid out in the Strategic Action Plan, and to incorporate a system of transparency into project management.
