PERSGA held this event (Awareness-Raising Workshop and Campaign) in coordination with the national focal point (Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) along with Aqaba Marine Reserve (AMR) for three days 8-10 September 2025) in Aqaba (Jordan). The main purpose of this event was to raise the awareness level of fishers on Sustainability of Fish Wealth and to have an open discussion with fishers for the development of fishery management in the area.  About 60 persons (most of them were local fishers) participated at a workshop held in Aqaba (Jordan). Different presentations, in relation to Ghost Fishing Gears (GFGs), Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU), Stock Assessment and Fisher Legislations & Endangered Species in Aqaba, were provided to different fishers for two days at the workshop (8-9 September 2025). There were discussion sessions with these local fishers at this workshop, to discuss the issues in relation to the sustainability of fish wealth and fishery management in Aqaba.  On the third day (10 September 2025) there was a visit to the local fish market and fish landing site, where specialists had dialogues with some fishers regards some of these issues, meeting the purpose of the event.
