EMARSGA center’s objective is to contribute to combat marine pollution by oil and other harmful substances at the regional level in PERSGA region. With this scope, the EMARSGA center mission is to ensure PERSGA countries to meet the Emergency Protocol obligations, while providing necessary technical assistance and expertise to strengthen their capacities and facilitate co-operation among them in order to timely and effectively combat pollution by oil and other harmful substances in cases of marine emergencies.

The center will also assist Member States in developing their own national capabilities to combat pollution by oil and other harmful substances and co-ordinate and facilitate information exchange, technological co-operation and training.
