PERSGA participated in the UNFCCC Conference of Parties meeting (COP23/CMP13/CMA1.2) that took place 6th -17th November, 2017 in Bonn Germany. The negotiation process on Climate change revolves around the sessions of the Conference of the Parties (COP), which meet on annual bases to review the implementation of the convention. The COP adopts decisions and resolutions, published in reports of the COP. Successive decisions taken by the COP make up a detailed set of rules for the practical and effective implementation of the convention. In cooperation with the hosting country the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia PERSGA organized a side event under the theme NDCs in addressing Marine and Coastal Zone Management in Red Sea and Gulf of Aden Showcase national regional collaborative efforts for ecosystem approach in NDCs addressing Marine and Coastal Zone Management, adaptation actions through: marine protection, coral reef; including their mitigation co-benefits. PERSGA has also participated in the exhibition during the conference. In which PERSGA has displayed a large number of its publications, posters and brochures. The publications included PERSGA technical series, PERSGA Regional Guidelines, roll-up posters and technical reports. Also PERSGA exhibited outreach materials and shots from educational films about the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden Environment. PERSGA guidelines and outreach materials have attracted many participants. The publications in Arabic language have particularly attracted many participants, especially the scientific guidelines and the outreach materials. Large quantities of those documents have been collected by the visitors of PERSGA pavilion in the exhibition hall.
