18/12/2017 Regional Training on Port State Control

The Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden PERSGA, in cooperation with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), held a regional training workshop entitled \"Sustainable Development and Exploitation of Marine Resources: Port State Control\". 
The training course was held during the period 18-20 / 12/2017 at the headquarters of the Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The workshop was attended by 11 specialists in the field of environmental protection and maritime transport from the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden countries. These are the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Sudan, the Republic of Djibouti, the Confederate Republic of Somalia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The workshop aims at introducing the participants to the latest developments issued by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regarding the international agreements and the powers of control of the flag state and the port state in the control of ships and the extent of their commitment to the implementation of the international conventions in a manner that ensures the safety of maritime transport and preservation of the environment and ensuring sustainable development in the Red Sea and Gulf Aden.
