The Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) has appointed Dr. Salim Al-Moghrabi and Mr. Kahlan Abu Ghanem to participate in the 8th Oil Spill Officers’ Meeting organized by the Regional Organization for the Protection of the Environment (ROPME) / Marine Emergency Mutual Aid Center (MEMAC). The meeting was held in Doha / Qatar during the period 10-12 March 2014. Representative from all ROPME member states, The International Maritime Organization (IMO), International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have participated in this meeting. Participants discussed during their meeting several issues related to the protection of the marine environment. Among those important issues was the Marine Environmental High Risk Areas (MEHRAs), Marine Emergency Response and Salvage Co-ordination Unit, and the Port State Control Officers (PSCO). The participation of PERSGA during the meetings was highly appreciated.
The Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden
